The Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI) Türkiye is exploring a strategic collaboration with the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS) to strengthen the development of Islamic economic and financial ecosystems in both Indonesia and Türkiye. The initiative follows a productive meeting between the two institutions that covered a range of potential areas of cooperation at both national and international levels.
A key focus of the collaboration is strengthening the Islamic economic and financial ecosystem through the exchange of experiences, best practices, and strategic insights in shaping ecosystem development frameworks and long-term roadmaps. The partnership is envisioned as a platform for fostering stronger institutional ties between Indonesia and Türkiye, while contributing to the advancement of the global Islamic economic ecosystem.
IAEI Türkiye and KNEKS are also exploring collaborative research initiatives geared toward applied, policy-oriented outcomes. Academic research, both institutions believe, should not only contribute to scholarly discourse but also generate practical recommendations that support policy formulation, implementation, and institutional decision-making — particularly on contemporary challenges and opportunities within the Islamic economics and finance industry.
As part of SAKİNAH TÜRKİYE 2026: Global Forum on Islamic Finance, KNEKS has been invited to send a representative to speak in one of the CEO Talks sessions. Given KNEKS's pivotal role in orchestrating the development of Indonesia's Islamic economic and financial ecosystem, the insights and achievements shared are expected to offer valuable perspectives for academics, policymakers, regulators, and industry practitioners attending the forum from various countries.
IAEI Türkiye is also inviting strategic partnership and institutional support from KNEKS to help ensure the successful implementation of SAKİNAH TÜRKİYE 2026. As an international platform designed to facilitate dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among stakeholders from academia, industry, government, and international organizations, the forum calls for substantial organizational and operational support.
Looking ahead, IAEI Türkiye hopes the partnership with KNEKS can be formalized through the most suitable framework, whether a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a Letter of Intent, or another collaborative arrangement. The partnership is viewed as a strategic bridge linking Indonesia and Türkiye in advancing research, policy development, ecosystem building, education, and international collaboration in Islamic economics and finance — while strengthening both countries' position as key contributors to the global Islamic economic landscape.
